Learning China

I lived in China for over 10 years – a third of my life. I learned to speak, read and write Chinese with reasonable fluency. That impresses a lot of people – both Chinese and non-Chinese. But what I really learned was China itself.

There is so much to learn! China is vast – a huge land, a long history,  an intricate language, a multitude of people groups, a variety of cuisines. After a decade I had barely scratched the surface.

hhc-portraitThis blog is a place for reflecting the things I have learned about China, and  exploring the things I have yet to learn.

I am currently living in my passport country (Australia) but Beijing still feels like home. I really hope I have the opportunity to live there again in the future!
